Legal Proofreading Done Write Right.

Why is proofreading important?

Simply put, because court transcripts are important. Accuracy in legal documents are important. Your TIME is important! Court reporters have a demanding and time-consuming job. That is why your time and skills are better used for the job you were trained in, instead of losing 1 to 2 days a week due to proofing.

What you get with a proofreader is a second pair of eyes to catch different errors and inconsistencies (spelling, formatting, industry-specific, etc).

Proofreading For Professionals

Large and small business alike can benefit from proofreading. I will sift through technical jargon and proofread for common mistakes. Often important documents can have a lot of text and it can be easy to miss a few errors. With Left Right Proofreading, you get another set of trained professional eyes to catch the small mistakes that will make a big impact.

Protect Your Reputation

Many times a document with many errors can give the impression that there is a lack of care in what is stated, and in legal documents a small mistake can cost a fortune. Proofreading can help protect your reputation and professionalism.

Meet The Proofreader

My name is Estela Perez and I run my freelance proofreading business out of my home in the great state of Texas. I graduated from Texas State University in 2016 with a BS degree in journalism and mass communication, with a minor in criminal justice. I then got my dental assisting certification and worked as a dental assistant for a couple years before I got my certification in Transcript Proofreading: Theory and Practice.

Editing and proofreading have always been my favorite part of any writing project I had. I have read thousands and thousands of transcript pages and can safely say this is what I love to do. Not only does it merge the interests reflected in my degree, but it allows me to be a small part in an important industry.

My Proofreading Resources

My proofreading resources are the Oxford English Dictionary, Margie Wakeman Wells’ Bad Grammar/ Good Punctuation, The Gregg Reference Manual, and Morson’s English Guide for Court Reporters. Besides referring to those sources, I will also be reading for content. If something does not make sense, I will bring it to your attention. This protects the quality of your work, therefore protects your professional reputation. The less time you spend doing what a proofreader can efficiently and quickly do for you, the more jobs you can take.
